The Test
The learner’s license test is a multiple choice theory test aimed at testing your knowledge of the rules of South African roads, road and traffic signs and controls of vehicles.

Your test may be written or electronic.

You will be required to arrive at the testing station 30 minutes before the commencement of the test and will be led to a test venue by a testing official. The official will provide all candidates with an answer sheet or a computer terminal on which to record their answers and specific instructions to complete the test. You will be given one hour in which to complete it. Candidates will then be required to wait for the completion of marking. Successful candidates will immediately be issued with a South African learner’s license which is valid for 24 months.
